It is one of the most notable works of the Rize region. It is built on the western slopes of Fırtına Creek, 15 kilometers south of the district center. The steep rock mass on which the castle was built is 750 meters above the sea and approximately 100 meters above the stream bed. Castle; It consists of outer walls, middle walls and inner castle. The gate of the outer castle is reached via a path in the northwest direction. You can reach the middle walls level with the help of a terrace. From here, you can enter the castle with the help of a second door. There are three important buildings within the middle castle. These are guard house, chapel and head tower. It is understood from the beam marks and beam holes on the walls that the tower has four floors. There are arched windows on the walls towards the east (valley, view) and loopholes on the other sides. It has been determined that the top of the tower is in the form of a terrace with a slope. Zil Kale, Kale-i Bala, Ciha Kale and Kız Kaleleri provided security for both the region and an important medieval caravan route reaching İspir. It is known that the castle continued to be used after the Ottomans conquered the region. The two hand cannons found in the castle are exhibited in the Trabzon Museum today. The building, which has recently undergone restoration, has a location overlooking the valley with a beautiful view and is one of the must-visit places in the district. The restoration works carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism were completed in 2011.
